The James A. Dias Scholarship for Research, Discovery and Innovation commemorates Jim's retirement from UAlbany and honors his many years of service and dedication to our research community. The scholarship supports graduate students in the pursuit of research and scholarship and serves as a tribute to remember the pivotal role Jim has played in shaping and building research excellence at the University for the thirteen years he served as vice president for Research.
Throughout his extraordinary career, Jim has not only made lasting and meaningful contributions to the University’s research enterprise that will stand the test of time; but more importantly, has served as a mentor, friend and colleague to so many students, faculty, and staff alike.
