Professor Ben Griffy Recognized for AI Tutor Initiative with Dean’s Fellowship

Professor Ben Griffy received the 2025/26 College of Arts and Sciences Dean's External Funding Incentive Fellowship (Pedagogy and Student Success). The Fellowship Program was designed to encourage and recognize faculty actively engaged in seeking external funding to support innovative teaching, enhanced student learning, and other student-focused initiatives. Professor Griffy received this fellowship in recognition of his work as a Principal Investigator (PI) on a multi-campus project to support the implementation of an AI Tutor for our students. He and his co-PIs at SUNY Downstate and SUNY Farmingdale have already begun to offer the AI Tutor in select courses and expect to be able to offer a novel approach to AI in the classroom over the coming semesters.
