Rui Zhao is an associate professor of economics at University at Albany. Most of his research studies theory of contracts, especially long-term or dynamic contracts; some other work examines formal and relational contracts within organizations. He teaches game theory and contract theory at the graduate level as well as microeconomics, game theory, and industrial organization at undergraduate level.
