About
Kyle Schirmann is an Assistant Professor of Management at the Massry School of Business, University at Albany, SUNY. A former software engineer and financial analyst, Dr. Schirmann is interested in how organizations build creative and innovative capabilities under technological and market uncertainty, as well as how teams aggregate creative work. Trained in strategy, he uses primarily quantitative empirical methods. His research has appeared in The Review of Economics and Statistics and American Economic Association Papers & Proceedings, and he presents regularly at research conferences.
As a doctoral student at Harvard Business School, Dr. Schirmann published on the effects of hybrid work on productivity and served as a teaching fellow in the economics department. He holds a master’s degree in Middle Eastern, South Asian and African studies from Columbia University and an undergraduate degree in mathematics from New York University.
