About

Dr. Elvis Avdić is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Marketing at the University at Albany's Massry School of Business. His teaching focuses on principles of marketing, global marketing and experiential learning that helps students connect marketing concepts to real-world business challenges. He is committed to creating engaging learning experiences that develop students' analytical thinking, strategic decision-making and practical marketing skills.

His research focuses on entrepreneurship, with particular interests in immigrant entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial resilience and endurance, faith-based entrepreneurship and the role of social capital in entrepreneurial success. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international academic conferences. 

Prior to joining the University at Albany, Dr. Avdić taught courses in entrepreneurship, marketing and business analytics. He also worked with entrepreneurs and small business owners and supported veteran entrepreneurs through the Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) at Syracuse University. 

His teaching and research are grounded in a commitment to bridging academic scholarship with real-world business practice.
