NYSED Autism Training

The Center for Autism and Related Disabilities in Albany is pleased to announce it is now offering the required three-hour autism training course, "Responding to the Needs of Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders," in an online format.

The NYS Education Department now requires that all persons applying for a teaching certificate or a license as a special education teacher, in addition to all the other certification or licensing requirements, complete a 3-hour course in the area of children with autism.

Individuals mandated to take this course in order to be certified or licensed as a special education teacher can now register for and take this course from the convenience of their personal computer at any time. (NOTE:  The course does not work well when viewing on a cell phone. All individuals taking the course should view the training on a PC or Mac.)

Individuals must register and pay the course fee ($45). Once payment and registration are processed, CARD Albany will send the registrant the webinar link and a password to access the training. Registrants will then be able to log in and take the training from their personal computer. Registrants must watch the entire video before taking the quiz.

Please contact us at [email protected] if you have issues with the registration link.
