Updates to the Faculty/Staff Page Template

Hello Drupal Editors,

The Web Services team has revised our faculty/staff page template to allow for more robust information showcasing faculty/staff research, involvement and achievements. Additionally, we've implemented minor design enhancements to improve search results and page scanning.

Previously, the template contained only one section for "About" the faculty/staff. Our new template divides content into specific sections for each area of focus, including major headings for Research, Instruction & Advising, and Additional Information, with subsections under each for detailed content. Any fields without content will not display on the published page.

We've also added fields for secondary office/lab locations, office hours and links to Google Scholar pages.

You can see an example of the new template on Nathaniel Cady’s faculty page. In addition to the fields displayed on Nate’s page, there are sections for Talks & Presentations and Teaching Statement.

The new template will not significantly impact existing faculty/staff pages, aside from minor design and layout changes. When you edit a faculty/staff page, you will see the new fields and can move content from the About section into the appropriate new field options.

Please submit the Edit or request a faculty/staff page form if you would like to request any changes and we’d be happy to help implement them. The form has been updated to reflect the new fields.

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about the new faculty/staff page templates. Thank you!

Best wishes,

University at Albany Web Services
