Welcome First-Year Students!
First-Year Orientation is required for new first-Year students (freshmen). Fall 2026 Orientation will include Summer Connection Days and Welcome Week Orientation. Check back soon for more information.
During Orientation, you will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of sessions based on your interests. You will also connect with your peers and learn about valuable resources and involvement opportunities on campus.
Family members and supporters are welcome to join us for a separate but concurrent Orientation program.
Registration for Orientation is available through your Application Portal. Orientation registration is open to all students who have submitted an enrollment deposit and completed all immunization and health requirements.
Registering for Classes
After you submit your enrollment deposit and complete all immunization and health requirements, please complete the Course Request Form. This allows your academic advisor, assigned to you by December, to connect with you and assist you in registering for classes. If you have any questions, please email [email protected].
New Student Fee
The New Student Fee supports UAlbany undergraduate students throughout their undergraduate careers. Programs supported by this fee include:
- Virtual and in-person Orientation programs for all incoming students
- Class programming for first and second year students
- Class programming for third and fourth year students
- Student Success based programming
The New Student Fee is mandatory for all students, excluding students enrolled in online degree programs, IELP, certificate programs, continuing education and EOP.
The 2025-2026 New Student Fee for First-Year Students is $265.
