Suicide attempts common in U.S. Adults with borderline personality disorder, study finds
ALBANY, N.Y. (November 3, 2021) – A study by Associate Professor Tomoko Udo shows that people with borderline personality disorder have an elevated risk for suicide attempts, particularly if the individual experiences chronic feelings of emptiness.
DrPH Student Analyzes Health Campaign Integration for Neglected Infectious Diseases in Latin American and the Caribbean
ALBANY, N.Y. (October 29, 2021) – Second year Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) student Andrei Chell recently evaluated high-profile health campaign integrations in Honduras, Colombia, and Guyana related to three neglected infectious diseases. This work may help countries in Latin America and the Caribbean to better understand how integrated health campaigns could curb the spread of disease.
SPH Studies Find Chemicals in Everyday Products are Harmful to Fertility
Three studies led by a School of Public Health PhD student found that a group of chemicals found in many plastic products are harmful to women who are pregnant and to couples planning a pregnancy – yet the products are often not on the list of things to be avoided.

MPH Student Provides Evidence to Support Maternal Mental Health Policy Development
ALBANY, N.Y. (October 22, 2021) - Community Care Physicians Scholar and MPH student Jabrea Robinson recently conducted research to better understand how peer navigators could be used as an intervention for mood and anxiety disorders caused by the physical and emotional changes that occur during and after pregnancy. Robinson’s experience was made possible with support from Community Care Physicians (CCP).
