
Rockefeller Brown Bag Series Returns for Fall 2020
In a new virtual format, the Rockefeller Brown Bag series returns Thursday, September 3rd with its first presentation of the Fall 2020 semester. This fall, meetings will occur every other Thursday from 12:00 to 1:00pm through Zoom.

Strategically restructuring and uniting two of its nationally ranked academic units, the University at Albany, SUNY announced that the School of Criminal Justice will join the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy effective June 1, 2020.

Three-Time Rockefeller Alum Named 14th SUNY Chancellor
UAlbany-educated Jim Malatras, the president of SUNY Empire, was named the 14th chancellor of the State University of New York, leading the largest system of universities, colleges and community colleges in the United States. Malatras, who received his bachelor’s, master’s and PhD degrees in political science from UAlbany’s Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy, is the first SUNY grad to lead the 64-campus institution.

A Democratic Enlightenment
Rockefeller College Professor of Political Science Morton Schoolman’s new book, A Democratic Enlightenment: The Reconciliation Image, Aesthetic Education, Possible Politics, argues that films, such as The Help and Gentleman's Agreement, offer a visual image of reconciliation that can serve as a type of aesthetic education, teaching US viewers how to cultivate a democratic sensibility.
