Professor Yang Organizes Summer Collaborations Project at IAS
Professor Rongwei Yang of the Department of Mathematics & Statistics at UAlbany recently organized a Summer Collaborators project at the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) at Princeton. The collaboration, on the topic, “Joint spectra, self-similarity, and Julia sets,” was joint with Natasha Goncharuk (Texas A&M), Mihai Putinar (UC Santa Barbara), and Zoran Sunik (Hofstra University). The Summer Collaborators program is funded by the National Science Foundation, and facilitates researchers from different universities meeting in small groups at the IAS for 2 to 3 weeks to further their research projects. Professor Yang‘s team studied the interface of spectral theory, representation theory, and holomorphic dynamics, through the lens of self-similar representations of groups.
