ALBANY, N.Y. (Aug. 13, 2025) — UAlbany students — whether they live on or off campus — now have access to TimelyCare, a virtual health and wellness platform. The new service enhances the University's existing medical and mental health resources and is part of its ongoing commitment to student success and well-being.

With TimelyCare, students will have 24/7 access to medical and mental health providers, health coaching, basic needs resources and self-care tools like yoga and meditation. The platform’s “TalkNow” feature also offers on-demand mental health counselors with average wait times of just five minutes. These resources will complement the University's existing in-person services, such as Counseling and Psychological Services, Student Health Services, Health Promotion, Middle Earth and Recreation and Wellness — all of which will remain fully available.

UAlbany’s partnership with TimelyCare builds on its mission as a Health Promoting University by expanding access to equitable mental health services, including a diverse, multilingual provider network trained in culturally competent care. The platform offers additional support during evenings, weekends, holiday breaks and summer, while also helping to reduce wait times throughout the semester.

“At UAlbany, the health and well-being of our students are a priority, and that means removing barriers that can stand in the way of their success,” said Joyce DeWitt-Parker, assistant vice president for health and well-being. “We know students need support that fits into their lives — not just their class schedules. TimelyCare helps us meet students where they are and, together with the University’s in-person services, we can provide care they can count on.”

Students can access TimelyCare day or night through cellphones, tablets and other devices. With its diverse team of professionals who speak dozens of languages, UAlbany aims to ensure that students are partnered with the best option for them. Access to TimelyCare services are free and insurance is not needed to speak with a provider.

Students can download the TimelyCare app on their phone or visit the University’s website for more information.
