About
Heidi Hill has been the historic site manager of Crailo and Schuyler Mansion for 19 years. She has positioned both sites with leadership, collaborations and consultants that have fostered exhibits, programs and conversations on the neglected history of the 17th and 18th centuries. She has received a Historic Preservation Award for History Interpretation and two Huttleston Awards for Distinguished Service from the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. In March 2024, she received the Anne Ackerson Award for Innovation in Museum Leadership from the Museum Association of New York.
The list of exhibits and programs in which she has been involved include: A Dishonorable Trade: Human Trafficking in the Dutch AtlanticvWorld at Crailo; Pinkster: a uniquely Albany and Hudson River Valley historical celebration developed by Africans living in bondage in the region in the 17th and 18th centuries; The Schuyler Flatts Memorial program and honorable burial at St. Agnes Cemetery; and The People of Schuyler Mansion introductory video and 2022 update. She has also traveled to the Kingdom of the Netherlands for a program with Dutch Culture to explore broader interpretations of Dutch Colonial history. Since 2021, Heidi has chaired the Historic Sites and Parks Conference Sub-committee of the Statewide Facility Managers Committee for NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.
