The University at Albany is one of the leading providers of evidence-based psychological services to children and families in the Capital Region. Through its Child and Family Therapy Clinic, UAlbany is training the next generation of clinical psychologists and making a significant impact on the health of children and families in our community.
Did you know that 9.4% of children between the ages of 2 and 17 have received an ADHD diagnosis? 7.4% of children aged 3-17 have a diagnosed behavior problems, 7.1% have diagnosed anxiety, and 3.2% have diagnosed depression.
These numbers don’t include those children who are struggling but haven’t received a diagnosis.
Early diagnosis and access to appropriate mental health treatment is critical to making a difference in the lives of children with mental disorders. The University at Albany’s Child and Family Therapy Clinic provides community-based psychological services to children, adolescents, and families on a low-cost sliding scale—but it requires the participation and generosity of alumni and friends like you to make it possible. Imagine the child your generosity could aid.
