Dr. Pradeep Atrey is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science, where he serves as Director of Undergraduate Programming. He is also co-director of the Albany Lab for Privacy and Security (ALPS).
Research Interests
Multimedia data analytics with a focus on security and privacy issues in application areas such as surveillance, social media, and cloud computing.

- Large-scale Multimedia Surveillance - Multimedia surveillance: suspicious event detection for public safety, privacy protection in video surveillance systems
- Social Media and Networks - Privacy-aware cloud-based social networking, cyber bullying detection and personality prediction using social media data
- Cloud-based Computing - Encrypted domain multimedia data processing over cloud: in surveillance, social media and health applications
Multimedia Security and Forensics - Digital evidence authentication, Protection of multimedia data (text documents, image and video) using secret sharing
