After years of hard work, perseverance and dedication, our graduates join the ranks of nearly 190,000 proud UAlbany alumni worldwide. On behalf of the faculty, staff and administration, please accept our warmest congratulations!
The UAlbany community looks forward to celebrating this momentous occasion with our graduates, their family and friends.
NOTE: Please be advised that SUNY and NYSDOH still require facemasks at all UAlbany Commencement activities and on all UAlbany premises. Those who do not wish to comply with this requirement will not be admitted into the Great Dane Graduation Experience. The newest CDC guidance is at the federal level; the University must await state and local guidance in order to change procedure. Therefore, the University will continue to follow NYS commencement guidelines, which state that all attendees must wear a facemask at all times other than individual students who may temporarily remove their facemask while crossing the stage or having their individual photo taken. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our community safe!
We are excited to debut our innovative Great Dane Graduation Experience, spanning May 15-21, which provides a fresh, fun and safe in-person experience for our graduates and their families while preserving our most meaningful academic traditions. Can't join us? Stage crossings will be livestreamed all day every day, and will be accessible from this page.
Additionally, the virtual Commencement Ceremony will air from this page on Thursday, May 20 at 7:00 p.m. (pre-show begins at 6:45).
- It will include traditional congratulatory messages from the UAlbany community and the official conferral of academic degrees, with some surprises along the way.
- Prepare by visiting our Social Assets page, and have your candle or flashlight ready for the finale!
