Job Posting - Assistant Professor

The Department of Health Policy, Management & Behavior, School of Public Health at the University at Albany, State University of New York, invites applications for a fully funded, tenure-track faculty position in the area of Health Management.

Successful candidates will be expected to develop and sustain scholarly research in the health management area, contribute to the expansion of the public health management teaching mission, mentor MPH and DrPH students, and actively engage in university and community service. We are especially interested in candidates with a commitment to fostering an environment of inclusion and collegiality among a culturally diverse school community. Candidates will have collaborative opportunities for public and private sector consulting and/or for research initiatives as the School of Public Health maintains long-standing relationships with the New York State Department of Health, local insurers, hospitals, and non-profit health care advocacy organizations.

Candidates for the position are expected to have a doctoral degree in health management, health administration, or public administration with a concentration in health, business, or a related field. The degree should be earned from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized accredited organization. Preferred teaching and research interests may be in a variety of areas including patient safety, health care quality, evidenced-based management, health care human resource management, health care productivity and budgeting, health care marketing, or organizational behavior. Prior administrative or clinical work experience in health care organizations such as hospitals, HMOs, public health agencies or organizations, or physician practices is preferred. The successful candidate must demonstrate teaching ability and evidence of scholarly research achievement. Applicants must address their willingness to teach remotely or online.
