Session Two

  1. Understand the unique needs for support in the educational environments of students with ASD
  2. Increase awareness of the general activities as outlined by NYS Education Department regulations for teaching assistants and teacher aides
  3. Increase understanding of evidence-based strategies for supporting students with ASD in educational environments
  4. Recognize the importance of increasing independence and self-advocacy skills in students with ASD

Session Three

1:00-2:15pm

Strategies to Motivate Individuals with ASD in the Classroom and at Home

  1. Gain a better understanding of the theories of motivation in individuals with ASD
  2. Understand reinforcement principles and how the principles are applied for use in motivating individuals with ASD
  3. Recognize evidence-based practice tools for increasing motivation in students with ASD in multiple settings

Continuing Education Credits:

CARD Albany is an approved provider for the following continuing education:

School Psychologists (NASP), NYS Social Workers (LMSW & LCSW), NYS Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHC), Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE), Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), and NYS Psychologists.

Each session is eligible for 1.25 contact hours for school psychologists, social workers, LMHC and CTLE. Only session three is eligible for 1 contact hour for psychologists.

There is a $ 5.00 processing fee per session for each CEU selected. CEUs can be selected during registration and payment can be submitted online with a credit card.

 

Each organization/entity uses their own calculation to determine the number of CEUs based on contact hours. As with all continuing education, the attendee should verify CEU requirements by their professional organization and/or state licensure board. Partial credit will not be awarded. Participants must remain through the entire session(s) to receive credit.
