Report by Center for an Urban Future Details Upstate Arts Renaissance
According to a report published by the Center for an Urban Future in October 2023, employment growth in the Arts in Upstate New York exceeded all other sectors and industries. There are more artists living in the Capital Region now than ever before. This data analysis reveals that, from 2011 to 2021, Albany’s resident artist population grew by 50.1 percent - from 967 to 1,452 - while the total population increased just 3 percent. Standout artists in a wide range of genres can be found in every corner of the region.
UAlbany MFA Student Wins $7,000 Thayer Fellowship
