The mission of the University Art Museum is to advance knowledge and foster understanding in contemporary visual arts. Through its exhibitions, collections, programs, and publications, the museum provides a forum for art, artists, and audiences that enriches the intellectual life of the university and the community.
While the museum receives critical support from the University at Albany, we rely on the generosity of a broad range of donors to achieve our mission. Each year we present challenging exhibitions and engaging public programs, made possible by individual donors, private foundations and corporations.
The success of the museum depends on the generosity of our donors. You can invest in our future and help us achieve our goals by making a contribution in one of the following ways:
Make an outright gift or multiyear pledge
You can make a gift of cash, securities, real estate, or personal property to the museum. Such gifts may be unrestricted for the general purposes of the museum or they may be earmarked for an exhibition, publication, education program, or an art acquisition fund. If you wish gifts may be made in honor of or in memory of a special friend or relative.
The Ann C. Mataraso Endowment Fund
It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of UAlbany alum Ann Mataraso (1932-2020).
Ann was a wonderful person, artist, and great friend to the UAM. She had many talents and interests, one of them being painting. She pursued her M.F.A. degree at UAlbany at the age of 70, graduating in 2002.
Ann was also one of UAM’s most generous supporters. The Ann C. Mataraso Endowment Fund was created by Ann, and provides annual financial support to cover the costs associated with, and pertaining to, the installation of the M.F.A. show for the University at Albany Art Museum, supporting the work of Fine Arts students each year.
At the request of Ann’s family, those who wish to honor her memory may send a contribution to The Ann Mataraso Art Museum Endowment Fund. Contributions can be made online, or mailed to The University at Albany Foundation, PO Box 761, Albany, NY 12201. Checks may be made payable to The University at Albany Foundation with “The Ann C. Mataraso Endowment Fund” noted in the memo line.
