Welcome from Provost Kim
Greetings and thank you for visiting. As the University’s chief academic officer, it is my great pleasure to support, oversee and execute UAlbany’s academic mission.
I work with our dynamic team of staff, faculty, chairs and deans to:
ensure excellence in academics, research, scholarship, teaching and service;
oversee all academic units and programs to support and expand student learning and faculty development;
and collaborate closely with the president and other senior officers to align our academic efforts in support of UAlbany’s priorities, Strategic Plan and Signature Strengths.
In my approach to this work, I aim to foster a culture of innovation, resilience and resourcefulness — one that encourages and incentivizes experimentation, promotes best practices, and removes barriers to progress and creativity.
