University Library - Mchanical Repair

Work Alert Notification

Dear Members of the UAlbany Community,

Please be advised of the following work occurring in University Library on the Uptown Campus. This work is necessary to support a mechanical repair. During this time, work may result in loss of ventilation and cooling in the southwest area of the Building.

Work is expected to begin on Sunday, August 31, 2025 at 7:00 AM and is expected to be completed by Monday, September 1, 2025 at 3:00 PM.

Critical Work Description or Scope:

Facilities staff will be working with contractors to replace heating coils prior to winter. This will require the unit to be shut down for work during the day. All efforts will be made to allow the unit to run during off hours, in between tasks, or as it is safe to do so to help condition the space. This would only affect the South West quadrant of the University Library (all floors).

Potential Impacts on Surrounding Areas:

-    Ventilation and Cooling.
