Campus Wide - Fire Hydrant Flush

Work Alert Notification

Dear Members of the UAlbany Community,

Please be advised of the following work occurring on the Uptown Campus. This work is necessary to support annual maintenance of fire hydrants. During this time work may result in minor disturbance to campus landscaping, walking surfaces and roadways. 

Work is expected to begin on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 7:00 AM and is expected to be completed by Friday, June 14, 2024 at 12:00 PM.

Annual Hydrant Flush

Critical Work Description or Scope:

Campus fire hydrants will be opened and operated for approximately 2 minutes to ensure hydrants are functioning as intended and to remove any sediment build up. 

Potential Impacts on Surrounding Areas:

  • Minor disturbance to landscaping. 
  • Water on walking pathways.  
  • Water on Vehicle Roadways.
