Performing Arts Center - Power Outages

Work Alert Notification

Dear Members of the UAlbany Community,

Please be advised of the following work alert. 

There will be nightly power outages in the Performing Arts Center starting Sunday night, May 12th at 9:00 PM and ending Thursday morning, June 6th at 6:00 AM.   This work is part of project P-0982-3 - Arc Fault Remediation, Phase 3.  These nightly power outages will be localized, as individual power panels are replaced and upgraded.  There will also be one building wide outage. 

As coordinated with the Performing Art Center building management, the local nightly outages will start as noted on the following nights: 

Sunday, May 12th: start at 9PM 
Monday, May 13th to Thursday, May 16th: start at 10PM 
Wednesday, May 22nd:  start at 10PM 
Tuesday, May 28th to Wednesday, May 29th: start at 11PM 
Thursday, May 30th to Friday, May 31st:  start at 10PM 
Sunday, June 2nd to Wednesday, June 5th: start at 9PM 
The power will be restored for these nightly local outages by 6AM the following morning. 

On Thursday, May 23rd from 11PM to Friday May 24th at 2AM, there will be a building wide power outage, for upgrade and maintenance work on the building main power switches and transformer. 

During these power outages the Performing Arts Center will be closed. 

The fire alarm system and emergency lighting systems will remain service during these outages. 

Please shutdown any sensitive electronic devices such as computers at end of your work shift.

Critical Work Description or Scope:

The University is replacing/upgrading original electrical infrastructure in the Performing Arts Center building.  This phase of work will involve replacing electrical panels, some power cables, and some upgrade and maintenance work in the main electric room.  This work will require nightly power outages.

  • Elevator (5/23) 
  • Heating/Cooling (5/23)  
  • Hot Water (5/23)

  • Telecom (5/23 & 5/29)
