Dear Members of the UAlbany Community,
Please be advised of the following work occurring on State Commons (adjacent to State Quad), along State Drive and Life Science Lane beginning Monday, June 22,2026. This work is necessary to improve pedestrian safety and ADA access to State Quad. During this time work may result in temporary road closures, alterations to vehicle and pedestrian traffic patterns, construction noise, and dust.
Work is expected to begin on Monday, June 22, 2026 at 7:00 AM and is expected to be substantially completed by Friday, August 14, 2026 at 5:00 PM.
Parking in front of State Quad has been removed. The portion of State Drive after the entry to State Parking lot will be closed while work is completed in front of State Quad. All visitors and staff will still be able to access and use State Parking lot. All vehicles needing to park on Carillon Drive to UNH will be allowed to turn right out of State Parking lot and proceed west when the portion of State Drive and Life Science Lane is closed. Limiting all access to Carillon Drive west of State Parking lot is encouraged during the project. All Emergency access by Albany Fire Department will be allowed to enter Carillon Drive to Earth Science Lane and continue to the front of State Quad. Practice vigilance and follow posted signs.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this work, please contact the project manager, Jason Kersch, at [email protected] or at 518-442-3188.
