Identifying innovative materials, additives, coatings, or multilayer structures that enable PET (polyethylene terephthalate) containers to safely package bleach while remaining recyclable. The goal is to replace HDPE with PET, offering advantages like clarity and lightweight design, but typically degrades when exposed to bleach. Proposed solutions must ensure 12-month bleach compatibility, be compatible with blow-molding processes, and meet recyclability standards. Ideal submissions will be commercially scalable and cost-competitive with HDPE.

Focus areas include microbial soil enhancers, biochar, natural amendments, turfgrass genetics, and novel soil treatments that improve root depth and carbon capture. Deliverables must include field validation or credible data, a clear path to commercial scalability, and alignment with sustainability goals.

Grants will support innovative, community-focused programs, specifically those serving K–12 students in underserved areas.
