This training will provide you with the knowledge and skills to accurately conduct MDS assessments. Although there is no MDS certification requirement at the state or national level, this is the only training approved by the New York State Department of Health. Learn the details needed to ensure a successful implementation of MDS 3.0 and gain an overall understanding of how to use the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) correctly.
MDS 3.0 The Basics Series
These self-paced training lessons offer detailed and specific information on each item on the MDS as well as an introduction to the Care Area Assessments (CAAs), Scheduling, and Care Planning. With content presented in six different lessons, there is something for each member of your interdisciplinary team.

Advanced MDS 3.0 Beyond the Basics
In this series, you will learn the knowledge and skills to identify, understand and schedule various MDS 3.0 assessments and understand the Care Area Assessment (CAA) process, including triggers and the care plan requirements accurately and efficiently. With content presented in three lessons, you will be able to ensure that each part of the larger RAI process is completed according to policy.

To Obtain Continuing Education Credits
Each participant interested in CE credits must watch the activity, complete an evaluation and pass the post-test, which is available above under "Evaluation, Post-test for CE Credits". A score of 80% and above on the post-test will generate a certificate indicating the requested credits.
Criteria for Successful Completion: Learners must attend 100% of this activity to be awarded full continuing education credits /contact hours.
