Program Description

Communicating Under Pressure is an interactive, two-hour, online workshop exploring what happens to our communication when the stakes are high, emotions are activated or conversations become difficult.

Learners will examine communication through three interconnected lenses:

  • How we manage ourselves through presence and awareness
  • How we engage others through listening and responsiveness
  • How the conditions surrounding a conversation, including power dynamics, shape what is said, heard and understood

Through discussion, reflection and practical exercises, participants will build greater awareness of their own communication patterns and develop tools for staying present, thinking clearly and communicating more effectively under pressure.

Cost

  • General Registration Fee: $50
  • UAlbany Alumni, Student, Faculty & Staff Registration Fee: $25

Note: Registration will be free for any Albany County resident or employee making $25 per hour, $52,000 per year or less. Verification may be required.
