The MS in AI for Business is a 30-credit program focused on artificial intelligence and its applications to business. It’s a one-year program for full-time students, and part-time students can stretch the program across two or more years to suit their schedules. You have the option to complete all the core program courses online, as well as some of the concentrations.

The program’s core curriculum includes fundamentals courses that teach core concepts and tools in AI, business courses that explore how AI can be integrated into business processes across various domains, and a course on security and ethics of AI. An elective course allows you to focus on any specific business domain or study more complex concepts in AI.

Your concentration courses will help you understand AI applications in your area of interest. The program culminates with an experiential capstone, to be completed as an internship, research project or semester long classroom-based project. This project will help you apply all your business and fundamentals skills toward a business problem.

Research and Experiential Learning

 

Through coursework and practical experience, you’ll work hands-on with AI systems, data and the documents and methods relevant to your concentration.

The required capstone is an experiential learning opportunity and, depending on the concentration you pursue, it can be done as an internship, research project in a lab or a classroom setting working on a semester long project.

We're also a part of the INSuRE program, which provides you with opportunities to work with scientists and engineers at national labs across the country to solve research problems related to cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.

International Students

This degree is designated as a STEM program. International students maintaining F-1 status are allowed to apply for up to 12 months of post-completion Optional Practical Training (OPT) following completion/graduation from their degree program. Currently, this degree program is also designated by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as an eligible degree for the F-1 STEM OPT work authorization extension; students who secure qualifying employment may be eligible to apply for the STEM OPT extension for a cumulative total of up to 36 months of F-1 OPT work authorization.

Students are expected to have basic knowledge of algebra and statistics before they start the program. Preferred undergraduate majors include business administration, computer science, information science, data science, mathematics, statistics, cybersecurity and digital forensics. 

A cumulative undergraduate GPA above 3.25 is desirable. International applicants must meet the University requirements for English Proficiency.
