New York State Legislative Delegation Tours ETEC

ALBANY, N.Y. (May 17, 2021) – Supportive members of the State Legislature, including Senators Michelle Hinchey and Neil Breslin and Assemblymember Patricia Fahy, visited campus on Friday, May 14, to view the latest progress of ETEC’s construction.

The $180 million complex will house the University’s first-in-the-nation College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and CybersecurityDepartment of Atmospheric and Environmental SciencesAtmospheric Sciences Research Center and the New York State Mesonet. It will also include chemistry research labs, the Department of Environmental and Sustainable Engineering, and various business development and technology transfer offices inside as well.

Once completed, ETEC will have the capacity to house more than 200 full-time faculty and researchers, 100 research and industry partners, and as many as 800 students. The University broke ground on the site in 2018 and is on track to complete construction by this fall.
