UAlbany Applauds 5,000 New Graduates During Weekend Commencement Ceremonies
Nearly 5,000 students celebrated their graduation from the University at Albany, which hosted its 181st commencement festivities from Thursday, May 15, through Sunday, May 18. Among the graduates were an estimated 3,000 undergraduates and 1,900 graduate students, including recipients who completed their degrees last summer and fall as well as over the winter. UAlbany held a series of commencement events for the Class of 2025 throughout the week, highlighted by individual stage crossings and the University-wide outdoor undergraduate ceremony.

Crayne Receives Inaugural Chancellor’s Horizon Award
Massry School of Business Associate Professor Matthew Crayne has been named as one of the State University of New York’s inaugural recipients of the Chancellor’s Horizon Award for Faculty Research and Scholarship. UAlbany Receives INSIGHT Into Academia Magazine’s 2025 Inspiring Programs in STEM Award
The University at Albany’s EXCELlence in STEM Program received the 2025 Inspiring Programs in STEM Award from INSIGHT Into Academia magazine. The award honors colleges and universities that encourage and assist students from underrepresented groups to enter the fields of science, technology, engineering, mathematics or STEM fields. UAlbany will be featured, along with 57 other recipients, in the June 2025 issue of INSIGHT Into Academia magazine.
