Younger Than Today: Photographs of Children (and sometimes their mothers) by Andy Warhol

(Main Gallery/First Floor)
June 29 – September 15, 2018

Younger Than Today: Photographs of Children (and sometimes their mothers) by Andy Warhol will include prints, Polaroids, and photographs by Andy Warhol from the University at Albany Art Collections, as well as selected works from the collections of The Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center at Vassar College; the Neuberger Museum of Art at SUNY Purchase; the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art at SUNY New Paltz; and the Hessel Museum of Art at Bard College. Sharing resources among five museums will allow each venue to develop and expand on themes related to their own Andy Warhol holdings, while providing joint programming and curriculum opportunities for the participating campuses. The respective exhibitions will be on view simultaneously during the spring and summer 2018 semesters.

Younger than Today includes over 60 Polaroids and photographs culled from the shared holdings of the Warhol x 5 collaborating institutions. Taken between 1974 and 1985, all are related to childhood, sibling relationships, and the Maternal.
