She draws from relational cultural theory, mindfulness- and acceptance-based strategies, and existential therapy, all within a multicultural context. Macey believes in celebrating her clients’ strengths stemming from their lived experiences, identities, cultures and communities. She sees therapy as an opportunity for clients to explore their inner selves, develop and hone ways of relating to others meaningfully, identify and nurture their values and what they find meaningful, cultivate resilience and confidence to navigate life’s challenges, and become more present and engaged in their lives.
Approach to Wellness: Macey values spending time in nature through activities like hiking, backpacking, snowboarding, running and biking. She believes that authentic, empowering relationships and community engagement are essential for healing and overall well-being. Thus, she values quality time with friends and family and is actively involved in the queer community.
