About
Professional Interests: Leah has experience working with a diverse range of adults facing various mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, specific phobias, trauma and substance use. She also has clinical and research interests in LGBTQIA+ populations and mindfulness- and acceptance-based approaches.
Approach to Therapy: Leah approaches therapy from a cognitive behavioral lens, with a focus on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based approaches. Leah emphasizes understanding what matters most to her clients and exploring ways they can relate to their thoughts, emotions and experiences in new, flexible ways to reduce suffering and improve their life. Another important aspect of Leah’s work involves understanding how a client’s identity, context and broader systems impact their experiences. She recognizes different treatment approaches can be helpful for different clients and aims to collaboratively determine the best approach with her clients.
Approach to Wellness: In Leah’s free time, you can find her snowboarding, practicing yoga, hiking with her dog, watching reality TV or spending quality time with her friends and family.
