About
Professional Interests: Clinically, Dan is interested in working on relationship issues, grief and trauma, questions about identity and meaning, and mood disorders. Dan believes in the value of connecting across differences of all kinds and is eager to support people with various struggles, life experiences and worldviews.
Approach to Therapy: In Dan’s view, psychological symptoms and interpersonal problems show up when we are feeling overwhelmed and alone. Dan aims to connect with clients and collaboratively foster a space of trust and exploration. Within this space, Dan helps clients to face, understand and heal/learn from the experiences at the root of their struggles. Dan’s approach is informed primarily by psychodynamic and existential-humanistic approaches, though he draws creatively from various therapeutic models to meet individuals’ needs.
Approach to Wellness: Dan trusts in mindfulness, intuition and relationships as sources of wellness. Personally, he approaches wellness by slowing down his life and by getting into the moment — disconnecting from technology and appreciating nature, hanging out with other people, and enjoying music and art.
