What is Purple Threads?
Purple Threads is a professional closet offering free professional clothing to current UAlbany students. Students are asked to show their ID at the entrance and are allowed to choose three pieces of clothing per semester.
We are located in Campus Center, Room 323, on the west side of the building's third floor.
Purple Threads is currently closed and will reopen during the Spring 2023 semester.
How can I donate to Purple Threads?
We greatly appreciate all donations. If you're interested in donating, please follow the following donation guidelines.

Women's clothing: We are currently accepting sizes Extra Small to Extra Large.

Men's clothing: We are currently accepting sizes Extra Small to Extra Large. We are especially in need of smaller sized men's suits, sport coats and slacks.
We inspect all donations when they are dropped off to ensure the clothing is in great condition for our students and will return any unusable clothing to you before you leave.
Donations can be dropped off in Campus Center, Room 323. Note: Purple Threads is currently closed and will reopen during the Spring 2023 semester
