Teaching and Research Areas:
Interpersonal and Intercultural Communication; Communication Theories.

Research Interests:
My research focuses on culture and communication, including (1) how cultural premises undergird communication beliefs and practices; (2) how cultures are constituted through language and narrative practices; (3) critiques of cultural biases in communication studies; and (4) in political realms, how discursive practices constitute and sustain national identities. Currently, I am working on a project exploring how cultural learning can be effectively realized through experiential pedagogy. In light of the search for best practices in higher education, this project aims to bring us one step closer to fully embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
