Environmental Health Sciences Faculty, Students & Graduates Contribute to Environmental Epidemiology Knowledge at Virtual Conference

ALBANY, N.Y. (August 26, 2020) - Department of Environmental Health Sciences faculty, students and graduates are connecting with colleagues and contributing to the field of environmental epidemiology through the fully virtual 32nd Annual Conference of the International Society for Environmental Epidemiology this week.

The conference, made up of pre-recorded and live sessions, gathers researchers, clinicians and public health professionals to discuss the latest advancements in the field. UAlbany faculty, students, visiting scholars and graduates are presenting at sessions and e-poster viewings. Presenters and attendees include Shao Lin, Erin Bell, Beth Feingold, Thoin Begum, Xinlei Deng, Ian Ryan, Yanji Qu, Tia Marks, Bo Ye and several graduates of the department, including recent PhD graduate Celeste Butts.

Posters from the Department of Environmental Health Sciences cover a variety of important topics, ranging from maternal folic acid supplementation and congenital heart disease (Yanji Qu) to meteorological factors and mental disorders (Xinlei Deng). Graduates of the department are heavily involved in e-poster sessions, presenting on a wide range of topics.
