About
Dr. Chittur is a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences. His current primary appointment is as Director of the Center for Functional Genomics, at the University at Albany. At UAlbany, his work has centered on the development and application of high throughput genomics technologies to various areas of disease including cancer, cardiomyopathy, immunology and infectious disease. His collaborations with scientists in these varied areas have led to advances in identification of biological markers for human disease.
Dr. Chittur is also a strong advocate for work force development of young scientists and methods to improve rigor and reproducibility in scientific research. He serves on many research groups at the Association of Biomolecular Resource Facilities and has collaborated with Hudson Valley Community College and City School District of Albany to enable opportunities in public education.
Dr. Chittur is open to collaborations aimed at new technology development for genomics and diagnostics.
