About
Ohbet Cheon is an assistant professor at the Department of Health Policy, Management & Behavior, University at Albany, College of Integrated Health Sciences. She is also a Richard P. Nathan Public Policy Fellow at the Rockefeller Institute of Government.
Prior to joining UAlbany, she was an assistant professor in the Reh School of Business at Clarkson University and completed postdoctoral training at the Houston Methodist Research Institute and NSF Center for Health Organization Transformation (CHOT).
With a robust background in public policy and healthcare management, her work focuses on how healthcare organizations adopt innovations in response to policy changes and performance feedback. Her research also explores health disparities by designing, implementing and evaluating interventions that improve access and quality of care.
She has published in Health Services Research, American Journal of Medical Quality, Population Health Management, International Public Management Journal, Public Management Review and other leading journals. Her publications address topics such as hospital-community partnerships, team-based strategies, opioid stewardship, avoidable admission through Emergency Department (ED) visits and hospital readmission reduction strategies.
