About

Carrie Schneider works in photography, film and installation. Her current research continues a 25-year investigation of chromogenic photo paper and considers the feminine face as a contested site. 

She has presented solo exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; the Finnish Museum of Photography, Helsinki; santralistanbul, Istanbul; ICA Pittsburgh; and MASS MoCA, among other institutions.

Carrie received a Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship, a Creative Capital award, and a Jerome Foundation New York City Film & Video Grant. She attended the Whitney Museum of American Art's Independent Study Program, the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki, as a Fulbright Fellow. 

Carrie lives and works in Brooklyn and Hudson, New York.
