Strategic Planning Committee


The Strategic Planning Committee (SPC) is an expansion of last year’s Strategic Planning Steering Committee (SPSC) to include faculty, staff, students, and key stakeholders including, but not limited to:

  • Academic Affairs/Provost’s Office
  • Athletics
  • Colleges & Schools
  • Communications & Marketing
  • External Community
  • Facilities, Campus Planning
  • Finance & Administration
  • Government & Community Relations
  • Human Resources
  • Institutional Research, Planning & Effectiveness
  • Information Technology
  • President’s Office
  • Research
  • Staff
  • Students (SA, GSA, etc.)
  • Student Affairs
  • University Development
  • University Senate
  • External Constituencies

Specifically, the SPC will:

  1. Think strategically for the university, broadly and over the long term
  2. Ensure that the resulting strategic plan aligns the draft strategic framework with the comprehensive campaign and the branding initiative
  3. Review materials being prepared for public dissemination and comment
  4. Provide input to the design, structure, and expected outcomes of planning events and activities
  5. Review material generated in the various processes and exercises and synthesize outcomes
  6. Craft strategic documents for further review leading to implementation

The SPC is responsible for continuing the University’s inclusive approach to strategic planning that provides all stakeholders with opportunities to contribute.
