About

Jenny is currently the Assistant Director in the Community and Public Service Program (CPSP) at the University at Albany, where she helps UAlbany undergraduate students engage in meaningful community service experiences either for academic credit or as part of the off-campus work-study program. She has a Master’s degree in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, with expertise in K-12 education policy, community development, student leadership, grants, and nonprofit management. She was previously a Grant Writer and Director of Professional Development at the Capital Area School Development Association (CASDA), where she organized over 100 professional development workshops per year, and wrote and managed a variety of education grants.

Jenny was previously a high school social studies teacher in New Orleans with Teach for America.  As a first-generation college student herself, she has a particularly research interest and affinity for first-generation college students, low-income students, and students who are historically under-represented in higher education.

As the Assistant Director in the CPSP, Jenny hopes to combine and leverage her experience in education, teaching, and nonprofit management to support UAlbany students and build the capacity of local nonprofit partners. She looks forward to supporting students in their growth and development as active leaders who are engaged in both the UAlbany campus and in the broader community.
