Virtual Event: Promoting Injury Prevention Messages in the Current Media Landscape

Please join us on Friday, October 22 from 1-2 p.m. via Zoom for the Maternal and Child Health Program’s October Brown Bag seminar: Promoting Injury Prevention Messages in the Current Media Landscape.

This month’s speaker, Jennifer Manganello, will be discussing how the media landscape presents challenges to sharing recommendations and information to parents about injury prevention. She will also share research findings related to this topic and best practices for developing and disseminating injury prevention messages.

Dr. Manganello is a health communication scholar who incorporates theories, concepts, and methods from the fields of public health and communication. Her research focuses on health literacy, especially as it relates to adolescents and young adults. Dr. Manganello also studies the influences of media and technology on health. Her work has been published in the Journal of Health Communication, Public Health Management and Practice, Journal of Children and Media, and Public Health Nutrition.
