I completed a master degree from UIET, India. I then completed my PhD from the Department of Biosciences and Biomedical engineering, IIT Indore India under the supervision of Professor Amit Kumar. In Professor Kumar’s Lab, I focused on the drug discovery for microsatellite expansion disorders such as Fragile –X syndrome, c9ALS, and HD. I was also involved in characterizing novel G-Quadruplex motifs as a promising drug target for combating human pathogenic infections such as Streptococcus pneumonia and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. I subsequently joined Professor Andy Berglund’s lab in the RNA Institute at the University at Albany in spring 2019. I am working on small molecule screens to identify promising hits that can neutralize the expanded repeat containing RNA mediated toxicity in DM1, DM2, and c9ALS.
