About
Latonia T. Spencer is a three-time University at Albany graduate and proud Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) alum.
As the Assistant Vice President for Administration, Latonia is responsible for the strategic management of fiscal and personnel resources for the Division of Academic Affairs, UAlbany's largest division. She has served in several leadership roles over her 30-year career at the University.
She began her professional career at UAlbany as an EOP Counselor and was later promoted to serve as the chief fiscal officer for the Center of International Education & Global Strategy. Prior to joining the Provost and Senior Vice President’s leadership team, she served as Director of Student Financial Services (SFS). Her experience in strategic fiscal management led to a dual role as Director of SFS and chief fiscal officer for the Division of Enrollment Management.
Latonia has served numerous campus committees and organizations throughout her career at UAlbany, such as an elected campus delegate and treasurer for United University Professions and its state-wide negotiations team, University Auxiliary Services board member, Chair of the SUNY-wide Accounting, Budget and Bursars group, and elected SUNY Faculty Senator.
She has been recognized for her leadership and contributions to UAlbany as a recipient of the President’s and SUNY Chancellor’s awards for Excellence in Professional Service.
