High School Seniors

All high school seniors who apply to the University at Albany are automatically considered for the Honors College. Strong candidates for the Honors College are curious, motivated students who demonstrate their potential to challenge themselves intellectually and successfully meet those challenges.

Honors Credit Transfer Policy

Students who completed honors credits at their previous institutions can request to transfer a portion of those credits. Transfer students must submit their previous honors courses’ syllabi to the Honors College Curriculum Committee for evaluation.

The committee will judge how many credits are equivalent to UAlbany’s honors credits. Regardless of how many transfer credits are approved, transfer students must take at least 9 honors credits at UAlbany to be a member of the Honors College.
