About

I was awarded my PhD in Psychology from the University of Sydney in Australia. I completed postdoctoral training at the University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney) and as a research fellow in cognitive neuroscience at Macquarie University supported by an independent Early Career Research Fellowship awarded from the Australian National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC).

Prior to joining UAlbany as faculty, I moved to the United States in 2018 and held research positions in the Laboratory of Brain and Cognition as part of the intramural research program at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) within the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD.

The aim of my research program in cognitive neuroscience is to understand how the human brain processes visual information. A recent focus is on understanding the neural mechanisms underlying real-world visual cognition, including face perception and memory for real-world objects.

My experimental approach is interdisciplinary across the fields of neuroscience and experimental psychology and includes neuroimaging techniques (e.g. fMRI, M/EEG), behavioral measures (e.g. psychophysics) and computational methods (e.g. machine learning, deep neural networks, computational modeling).
