Haoyu Wang and Zheng Wu were awarded $677,967 from the National Science Foundation for a project that will develop physics-informed AI tools capable of representing how the stratosphere influences surface weather, with the goal of extending advance warning for extreme events like winter cold snaps and heavy snowfall.
