UAlbany's Summer Bus Tour Aims to Introduce the University's Offerings to the Region
ALBANY, N.Y. (June 17, 2026) — In a revival of a pre-Covid community engagement program, the University at Albany is hitting the road to highlight its offerings and people at summer events across the Capital Region.
The UAlbany summer bus tour is designed to get UAlbany representatives — faculty, departments and divisions — off campus to let the greater Capital Region learn more about the area's premier research university and anchor institution, using well-trafficked locations to help drive visibility.
Through six events in this summer series, the initiative aims to maximize University exposure while adding value to existing community events through activities and demonstrations. The stops will include interactive crafts for families, information on UAlbany’s arts and STEM offerings, giveaways and, of course, Damien. These engagements will introduce the University to community members who may not already attend UAlbany events. Campus partners are invited to showcase their own departments or divisions at as many tour events as they can make.
Hop on! Transportation will be provided for participants, with a bus departing from campus for each event and arriving with time for set-up before activities begin.
The event schedule is as follows:
- Scotia-Glenville 250 Celebration (6/26)
- Chatham SummerFest (7/18)
- Green County Youth Fair (7/25)
- Canajoharie National Night Out (8/4)
- Mayfield Bannertown Fair (8/13)
- Palace Theater Block Party (8/15)
